The theatre’s newly revitalised education programme, generously supported by The Patrick Trust, is going through an exciting period of growth. The last 18 months have been a busy time of schools workshops, theatre tours, teacher training sessions and popular careers day for young people.

Lots of patrons have also enjoyed our new pre-performance Playtime events, enriching children’s experience of live performance with additional fun activities including art and craft, dance and movement, singing and storytelling. Watch out for information on further playtime sessions on the homepage of this website or call  0844 338 5000.

Access For All: It’s very important to us that all patrons feel welcomed at Birmingham Hippodrome. We offer sign language performances, captioned performances and audio described performances with supportive touch tours, plus a range of discounts. ‘Liz Leck and her team at the Hippodrome organised a fantastic day for us. We were put through our paces in the Dance Studio learning a rip-roaring routine to ‘Step In Time’ and after an unofficial lunchtime entertainment of the company doing their physical and vocal warm up, we finished the day with an energetic drama class. A brilliant day was rounded off with tickets for the opening night of Mary Poppins. Thanks again to Liz and her team.’
