Did you know that for over 100 years Birmingham Hippodrome has presented the best in arts and entertainment with worldclass opera and ballet, popular musicals, international dance, comedy and drama, and the UK’s biggest and best Pantomime for the people of the West Midlands and beyond.

Many people also aren’t aware that we are a registered charity, an independent theatre receiving no public subsidy. We rely on ticket sales, donations and in-kind support from all theatre-lovers to keep Birmingham Hippodrome thriving. We are a big employer and a major contributor to the local economy, welcoming some 500,000 visitors each year.

Over 70% of the income acquired from ticket sales is not retained by the theatre, so the remaining amount has to cover salaries, fuel bills, building maintenance and much more. To continue our work in areas such as education and access, innovative programming, as well as assisting operational and maintenance costs to ensure we remain one of the biggest and best theatres in the UK, financial assistance from individuals, private sources and business is vital.

There are many ways to support us; from just an additional £1 donation on your ticket booking, a £30 annual Friends membership or opportunities for your company from just £280+VAT per year.
