NAMING A SEAT AT BIRMINGHAM HIPPODROME

Can your school raise £250 to name a seat in the stunning, historic auditorium of Birmingham Hippodrome?

We’re an independent registered charity and a stage for the best in the world, inspiring children and young adults with our popular education projects.  Your school may have already been involved in one of our projects or attended a performance here at discounted rates.

We need to ensure that future generations can experience live performances on a stage for the best in the world ... and we need your help!

Birmingham Hippodrome and Heart FM are challenging all of the schools in the region to fundraise £250 each to name a seat, securing the future of our stage.   A seat plaque with 10 word dedication of your choice will be placed in our auditorium for 10 years.

We’ll be closed for 4 weeks this autumn to completely replace our current stage.  We’ll also be carrying out lots of other backstage improvements and refurbishments so that we can continue presenting fantastic, internationally-acclaimed productions. Fundraising can be FUN and a rewarding challenge for your pupils! Our Education team at the theatre has come up with some great ideas. There are lots of ways your schools can fundraise towards a seat plaque.

Nearly 750 seats at the theatre have already been named and each plaque tells a different story. All sorts of people have supported us in this way. Your school’s name will be associated with the theatre and its brand new stage for the next ten years; a stage welcoming new generations of theatre-goers and a whole host of magnificent shows.

The £250 that you raise entitles you to:

• A seat plaque with your 10 word dedication/school name which will stay there for 10 years. A great surprise gift for a star pupil, or an amazing teacher or a retired/former colleague
• A certificate with the seat number on it which you can proudly display at school
  
• The chance to win a day’s theatre workshop for your pupils at Birmingham Hippodrome
  
• The chance to win a superb prize from Heart FM who have kindly supported our Name a Seat Scheme
